Culture
How do you choose an electrical contractor? Sure, you’ll make sure they have the right certifications. And you’ll probably want to make sure they’ve handled a project or two that seem to parallel yours. But chances are, more than one will survive those basic “screening” factors. Then what?
Once you get past the very mechanical aspect of installing cables and hooking up equipment, it becomes more difficult to assess the benefits of one company over another, and to evaluate the quality of their work.
At Feyen Zylstra, we’d suggest you look closely at the “culture” of the company itself. Basically, find out what you can about what it is the company considers important, beyond making money. And in the process, don’t look merely at what it says. Look at what it does.
When someone examines Feyen Zylstra through that looking glass, he or she will find three things that define our culture. They included:

- Our core values: the principles that guide our basic approach to every single project in which we participate: safety, professionalism, responsiveness, integrity, and efficiency.
- Our commitment: a list of very specific, itemized promises we make, not only to our clients but to our partners, members of other trades, and others, regarding our performance on the job.
- Our involvement in the community.
